Expanding into the EU market offers exciting opportunities—but it also comes with strict regulatory obligations. If your company is based outside the EU/EEA or Northern Ireland and you plan to sell chemical mixtures such as cosmetics, cleaning products, or other regulated items in the EU, you’ll need to meet specific compliance requirements under the CLP Regulation (EC No. 1272/2008), including Poison Centre Notification (PCN) and the use of a Unique Formula Identifier (UFI).
As a non-EU business, you’re not allowed to submit a PCN directly—but we can help. We offer full support with regulatory guidance and compliant label preparation, helping you navigate EU laws with confidence and enter the European market professionally and efficiently.
If your company is located outside of the EU/EEA or Northern Ireland, you are not permitted to directly submit a Poison Centre Notification (PCN) under Annex VIII of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation).
Non-EU companies must appoint an EU-based contact
Please note: Non-EU companies are not allowed to submit a PCN themselves.
To comply with EU law, you must appoint an:
- EU Importer, or
- EU-based “Downstream User” or Only Representative
This appointed entity will be responsible for the PCN submission and must be listed in the notification. We can assist you in making your product complient.
